About me
Nan Trowell Brown is a library media specialist in metropolitan Atlanta with 22 years of school library experience, including 15 years in middle school. Nan has served as an advocacy coordinator for GLMA since 2010, including presentations to state legislative committees and GLMA members in workshops and panels. She was awarded GLMA’s 2022 Intellectual Freedom Award. She chaired ALA’s 2022-23 Joint Committee on School/Public Library Cooperation which focused on youth services librarians support in meeting all students’ needs in a climate of censorship and served as content curator for the November/December 2023 AASL Knowledge Quest issue on Soft Censorship.
